I have taught in massage education since 1992. First as an associate
instructor, then instructor at Seattle Massage School from 1992-1998.
With a national renown group of instructors; Diana Thompson, Clint
Chandler, Andrew Biel, Barbara Frye, Marty Ryan among others. During
the time from 1995 to present, I’ve developed my own eclectic blend of
indirect osteopathic technique methods to treat connective tissue
disorders known as Integrative Fascial Release. Now taught in Australia
and North America, it consists of a three day Foundations course and a
three day Advanced course.
I joined the faculty at the Australian College of Natural Medicine,
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in March 2001. Instructing in their
certificate, diploma and degree programs, I have written three courses
for ACNM. I am now considered a lead instructor
I began massage conference presenting with the AMTA Victoria Bendigo
conference in April 1999 presenting IFR, and that followed with the
2001 ATMS Australian Traditional Medicine Society Massage Conference at
Homebush-Sydney in October presenting Clinical Approaches to Working
With Sciatica. This led to accompanying the President of the Massage
Board for ATMS, Greg Morling, who later became AAMT’s second national
president, on a 2002 tour through New South Wales & Queensland
presenting in Dubbo, NSW, Newcastle, NSW, Central Coast, NSW, Blue
Mountains, NSW, Canberra ACT, Brisbane and Marochydore, Qld. Each
presentation led to a series of IFR workshops in five of those locales
which at the time were entitled IFR Level 1, 2 & 3.
I have presented at two of the four AAMT Australian Association of
Massage Therapists National Conferences, and on the conference
committee for the selection of presenters at the other two, the first
being in Canberra, May 28-29, 2005 presenting SI Joint Dysfunction
& Headache Pain, and June 2-3, 2007 in Melbourne presenting
Fibromyalgia: Clinical Approaches for the Manual Therapist..
I have presented for the Institute of Registered Myotherapists IRMA,
first in March 2004 with Posture: Alternatives to the Prevailing
Paradigm, then in October 2006 IRMA Conference in Melbourne, Everyday
Presentations from a New Perspective. Presenting on Head and Neck Pain:
Approaches for Cervicogenic Disorders Myofascial in Origin and Lower
Extremity Approaches for Soft Tissue Disorders.
In October 2007 I was invited to present at the Olympic Sports Medicine
Centre Soft Tissue Injury Forum presenting on Masterclass- Groin Pain:
A Global Approach to Resolving Local Conditions. This is a local and
prestigious physiotherapy-manual therapy forum.
From 1999 in Seattle and from 2001 to 2005 I taught IFR at the Brian
Utting School of Massage BUSOM. Our relationship ended in 2006 as BUSOM
was sold to Cortiva and we amicably decided to terminate our
relationship.
I have been presenting at Hawaii Healing Arts College in Kailua, Oahu,
Hawaii since February 2006 and was sponsored by the President of the
Hawaii State Chapter of the AMTA USA Olivia Nakashima to present IFR
Foundations 3 day class this past February 2008. During this time frame
the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada NHP has asked me to present
IFR Foundations in Calgary, Alberta which we did in February 2008.
